Hey there, I'm Josh Koontz, a developer, entrepreneur, and devoted follower of Christ ✝.


Welcome to my site, where I blend faith with pushing the limits of software. Based in Wheeling, West Virginia, I’m a full-stack developer skilled in Django, networking, and more, building open-source projects that solve real problems, fuel my curiosity, and ultimately point back to God’s truth.


My journey has not been easy. I've battled addiction, navigated part-time parenting to a little one, planned a wedding with a wonderful woman, and pushed through the grind of side hustles. Through prayer and scripture, I felt called to create tools like my Project Manager app, the LevelUp game, and this website, all as “good works” (Ephesians 2:10) meant to bring others closer to God. Faith isn't a side note. It is the foundation. After hitting rock bottom, trusting Christ changed my world. Now I want to share that hope by blending biblical wisdom with lessons from coding and business to inspire change in your life. From the beginning, God gave us responsibility. Whether we're tending a garden, maintaining a codebase, or building something new, we're meant to care for what we've been given.

Colossians 3:23

"Whatever you do, do it wholeheartedly, as if you were doing it for the Lord and not for others,"

Whether you're deep in a debugging session or sitting in a meeting, give your best effort. When your work is done for God, even the ordinary moments take on real purpose.

Proverbs 16:3

"Entrust everything that you do to the Lord, and your plans will turn out to be successful."

Hand everything in your life to God; He'll guide your innovation, from open-source commits, business pivots, or even if you get that job you applied too. Trust in the path he leads you down!

Genesis 1:28

"God blessed them and told them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth; subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the seas and over the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves upon the earth."

God put us here to live with purpose and to create in every part of our lives, even in the simple, everyday moments.

1 Peter 4:10

"Like good stewards of the varied graces of God, use whatever gift each one of you has received to serve one another."

Use the gifts God gave you to serve others. Our talents aren’t accidents, they’re entrusted to us so we can build up the people around us!

Ephesians 6:4

"Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord."

There will be hard days, but don’t lead with frustration. Raise your children with patience, discipline, and a steady example of Christ.

Proverbs 22:6

"Train a child in the way he should go, and he will not deviate from it, even in old age."

Invest in your family’s spiritual growth. The habits and truths you plant today shape the direction of their tomorrow.

Psalm 127:3

"Behold, children are a gift from the Lord, a reward of the fruit of the womb."

Children are a gift from the Lord. The way we raise them echoes beyond this life.

Colossians 3:20-21

"20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this is pleasing to the Lord. 21 Fathers, do not provoke your children lest they lose heart."

God is the foundation of the family. Fathers are called to build with strength and gentleness, creating a home where obedience and love grow together.

Deuteronomy 6:6-7

"6 You shall keep these things that I command you today in your heart. 7 Teach them to your children. You shall talk of them when you are sitting in your home, and when you are walking along the way, and when you lie down and when you rise up."

Faith isn’t a once-a-week talk. It’s woven into daily life-at the table, on the road, before bed, and when the day begins. Lead your home by living it out consistently.

Ecclesiastes 9:10

"Whatever task your hand finds to do, expend all your efforts on it, for you will find no work or planning or knowledge or wisdom in the netherworld to which you are going."

Give your work everything you have. Effort builds skill, sharpens the mind, and honors the opportunity God placed in front of you.

Proverbs 14:23

"Diligent labor always yields profit, but idle conversation only leads to poverty."

Hard work bears fruit; let your efforts in the workplace reflect God's call to diligence and integrity.

Matthew 5:16

"In the same way, your light must shine so that it can be seen by others; this will enable them to observe your good works and give praise to your Father in heaven."

Do not hide the gifts God gave you. When you live and work with integrity, your light can be a beacon pointing back to God.

1 Thessalonians 4:11

"Strive to live quietly, to attend to your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you."

Embrace the quiet grind. Faith is often built in steady work, discipline, and the daily effort no one else sees.

Colossians 3:17

"And whatever you do in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."

When we learn to walk with God in every part of our day, our work, words, and actions become a quiet act of gratitude.

Matthew 28:19-20

"19 Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the world.”"

Share the Gospel with courage and humility. Even reaching one soul can change a life for eternity!

John 3:16

"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may attain eternal life."

Embrace the sacrifice God gave for the world. Through this act, we are offered the chance to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

Acts 1:8

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and then you will be my witnesses not only in Jerusalem, but throughout Judea and Samaria, and indeed to the farthest ends of the earth."

Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we are called to share our faith wherever life takes us, trusting that God guides our steps along the way.

Psalm 96:3

"Declare his glory among the nations, his wondrous deeds to every people."

Celebrate God's works globally; share stories of faith to inspire hope in diverse cultures.

Romans 10:14

"Not All Have Responded to the Good News. But how can they call on him if they have not come to believe in him? And how can they believe in someone about whom they have never heard? And how can they hear without someone to preach to them?"

Be the voice to bring people closer to God. Sometimes they may not even know of him. Be the beacon of light to lead others back to God.
